At just 28, Alexus envisioned a future where hope was tangible, where she could create a space in her community that made the youth feel safe, strategize to maximize their educational experience, help them apply for jobs, apply for college, understand the importance of being financially literate, and prepare them for the world that awaited.
She always believed in the power of community, in the strength found in shared stories of struggle and resilience. Her dream was to run a nonprofit aimed at providing support to young women and men ages 12-22.
Yet, as life unfolded, Alexus was called home, and her family and friends were left behind with broken hearts, missing her every day. Each had faced their own battles and carried scars that told stories of loss and grief.
Together, they were ready to transform their collective pain into purpose, to breathe life into a vision that Alexus held in her heart.
Together they created The Alexus House.
